Happy Monday all- A tune above to get your week off to a good start.
Mike just introduced me to Dirty Beaches yesterday. The moody-distorted-rockabilly vibe is rocking my world. We listened to it while he gave me a tutorial on how to hand sew leather which I think is totally fitting. Sewing leather may have the dangerous possibility of becoming a new (and expensive!) hobby. Oh dear...

National Geographic has an amazing picture gallery of a French mansion that was closed for over a hundred years and has now been opened as a museum for the public. The mansion features wonderful oddities like the frog duel pictured above along with other taxidermy and architectural wonders.

I just discovered the late Louis Wain's work. Later in his career he suffered from schizophrenia and he started drawing psychedelic kitties. Despite his sad story, these kitties are amazing.

I met a tall, handsome boy named Mike when I moved into an apartment with him and 3 other roommates. The first time I saw him he had on an eighties far west jacket and jeans with so many holes they barely held together. He would wear one piece long johns around the apartment but would have to tie up the top half around his waist because he was too tall for them. He now opts for better fitting duds but I've can't help thinking of him in his old converses with the bottoms falling off and sigh. He makes this squeaky noise when he laughs really hard, always does the dishes and is a fierce dancer (he always does the running man).

Mike is the best guy a girl could ask for and tomorrow we celebrate 6 years together :)
